PokerStars Launches Russian RCOOP and Offers $65,000 Contract
PokerStars has announced an exciting series of online tournaments tailored for Russian-speaking players. The Russian RCOOP, inspired by the success of the World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP), will feature 11 tournaments with a guaranteed prize pool of $200,000. The series will run from October 31 to November 7, 2010, and will be available to players from Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Armenia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, and Uzbekistan.
In addition to the online series, PokerStars is also hosting the Russian Poker Series (RPS) in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, from October 31 to November 7, 2010. This offline event coincides with the Russian RCOOP, offering players a unique opportunity to participate in both online and offline tournaments.
PokerStars is also running a special promotion where players can win a yearly contract worth $65,000. The promotion involves participating in monthly freerolls, with the top three finishers in each freeroll qualifying for the 'Big Final' on January 9, 2011. The winner of the 'Big Final' will receive a salary of $4,000 per month and $17,000 in tournament buy-ins.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
