PokerStars Lowers Rake, Full Tilt Brings Back Black Card VIP Status
PokerStars has announced a reduction in rake for Pot Limit Omaha (PLO) micro-limits, effective from July 1, 2013. The rake has been lowered for games ranging from $0.01/0.02 to $0.10/0.25. This decision comes after a meeting between PokerStars management and players, where Steve from PokerStars shared the news on the 2+2 forums.
Steve highlighted that PokerStars now offers the lowest rake compared to other major competitors. Additionally, players in No Limit/Pot Limit games up to $0.05/0.10 will earn bonus points faster due to increased VPP coefficients. The VPP coefficients for these games are set at 10x for $0.01/0.02, 8.5x for $0.02/0.05, and 7x for $0.05/0.10.
Full Tilt Poker has reintroduced the Black Card VIP status, which was originally launched before the infamous 'Black Friday.' The new Black Card status includes several benefits, such as a sponsorship program for top performers, weekly rakeback, and the ability to convert points directly into cash. Players who maintain the Black Card status for 100 days will receive a metal card as a reward, which can be used as identification for live events.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
