PokerStars Unveils Exciting Changes to Loyalty Program for 2013
PokerStars, the world's largest poker room, has announced significant changes to its loyalty program effective from January 1, 2013. The most notable addition is the introduction of a new VIP status called ChromeStar, which will sit between BronzeStar and SilverStar.
To achieve and maintain ChromeStar status, players need to accumulate 100 VPP monthly. This new tier offers all the benefits of BronzeStar, plus a ticket to a new weekly VIP tournament with a $5,000 prize pool and access to $100,000 freerolls, which are also open to SilverStar and higher status players.
The requirements for SilverStar and GoldStar statuses have been reduced for 2013. To achieve SilverStar status, players need to accumulate 500 VPP monthly, a 33% reduction from the previous 750 VPP. GoldStar status now requires 2,500 VPP monthly, a 17% reduction from the previous 3,000 VPP. Additionally, players who accumulate 5,000,000 VPP will receive exclusive TAG Heuer watches and access to support via Skype. Those who reach 10,000,000 VPP will receive a dedicated mobile phone number for support. George "Jorj95" Lind is the only player to have accumulated 10,000,000 VPP on PokerStars. Freerolls for SuperNova and above with a prize pool of $1,000,000 will be held on February 16, June 1, August 17, and November 16, 2013. SuperNova and SuperNova Elite players will have a separate queue at the PokerStars bank.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
