PokerStars Announces Major Cash Game Changes Effective March 1st
PokerStars has announced several changes to its cash game structure, effective from March 1, 2011. These changes were announced by PokerStars representative Steve on the 2+2 forum. One of the key changes is the increase in waiting time before returning to a table with a smaller stack, which has been extended to 2 hours.
For heads-up tables in NLHE, the 20-100bb tables at the $2/$4 and $0.25/$0.50 limits have been removed and replaced with 20-50bb and 40-100bb tables. Additionally, the high-stakes heads-up tables ($5/$10 and above) have had their speed changed from 'fast' to 'normal'.
In PLO and PLO/8 games, the separate 20-50bb and 40-100bb tables have been unified into a single 30-100bb table. The buy-in range for PLO euro tables has also been adjusted from 35-100bb to 30-100bb.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
