PokerStars Announces All-Star Showdown with High Stakes and Unique Format
PokerStars has announced an exciting new event called All-Star Showdown, which features eight top poker professionals. The event is a celebration of PokerStars' new contract with Isaac Haxton, who has changed his nickname to Ike Haxton.
The All-Star Showdown will consist of head-to-head matches with a buy-in of $100,000. The eight participants include Isaac Haxton, Alexander "Sussie Smith" Roumeliotis, Alex "Kanu7" Millar, Ben "Sauce123" Sulsky, Tobias "KTPOKP" Kuder, Ben "Ben86" Tolleren, Phil "MrSweets28" Galfond, and Daniel "jungleman" Keits. The matches will be played on four tables with blinds starting at $50/100, doubling every 3,000 hands, and will continue until one player loses all their money. The winner will take home a massive $550,000 prize.
In addition to the All-Star Showdown, PokerStars has introduced the "Run It Twice" feature, allowing players to split the pot by dealing two boards. This feature is available in the PLO100 table and can be enabled in the settings menu under "Open second board". The feature was first introduced in 2008 and has gained popularity due to its ability to reduce variance.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
