Poker World Buzz: Controversies, Records, and Farewells
The poker community has been buzzing with various events and personalities making headlines. One of the most notable incidents involved Wheel of Fortune contestant Sharline Rubush, who was disqualified for not answering the final question in time, despite having the correct answer.
Alex Jacob, a former professional poker player and Jeopardy champion, took to social media to advocate for Rubush, encouraging the show's organizers to award her the prize. Audi USA conducted an internal investigation and ultimately awarded the prize to Rubush, much to the delight of Jacob and other fans.
In other news, a record jackpot was won on GG in early December. The poker world also saw a controversy involving a possible collusion scandal between two Brazilian players in the final of WPT DeepStacks on 888. Poker player rounder63, who was involved in the scandal, stopped actively playing online in the summer of 2017.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
