Poker-Red 2013 Awards: Meet the Nominees for Best Spanish Poker Players
Poker-Red, the leading poker news website, is presenting its awards for the best poker players in three categories. The nominees include several familiar faces from the poker community.
Adrián Mateos is nominated for two awards: 'Player of the Year Live' and 'Rookie of the Year'. His remarkable year saw him rise from relative obscurity to become a key figure in Spanish poker. Juan Pardo 'malakagrinde' is also nominated for 'Rookie of the Year', having had an excellent campaign that made him a strong contender for the award.
In the 'Player of the Year Online' category, Pablo Fernández 'pablotenisis' stands out. Despite being based abroad, he has had significant performances, and his early 2014 results continue to impress. He will face off against old rivals like Jonathan Concepción and José Ángel Latorre. The jury will decide the winners of these three categories in the coming days. Additionally, the 'Professional Career Award' will be announced around the same time, recognizing the work done for Spanish poker.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
