Poker Pros Take a Break for Basketball in Las Vegas
Professional poker players, including Kirill Rodionov and Andrey Pateichuk, took a break from the World Series of Poker (WSOP) to engage in a friendly basketball match at the UNLV university complex. The complex, which hosts the NBA Summer League, provided an excellent setting for the game.
The teams were composed of 'veterans' and 'youth', with players like Kirill Rodionov, Andrey Pateichuk, and Amke participating. The match consisted of four quarters, each lasting 15 minutes, with the veterans winning 60-58 in an intense battle.
After the match, the group went to the WSOP, with some players, including Kirill Rodionov and Kuzya, having good stacks. The group lives in close proximity, with some sharing a room and others living across the street. Andrey Pateichuk mentioned that the basketball court was found thanks to Brian Rast. After the match, poker players like Mosseri and Galen Hall arrived at a nearby court, adding to the excitement of the day.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
