Poker Player Turns $100 into $700 on Micro-Limits Omaha

Poker player jonna102 recently conducted an experiment, starting with $100 to see if they could build it up playing Omaha on micro-limits. The player managed to turn $100 into $700 in just over two weeks. The majority of the hands were played in Zoom PLO on PokerStars at limits up to PL10. The player did not account for rakeback or other bonuses. Over this period, the player played approximately 25,000 hands with an average win rate of about 27 bb/100.

The player's VPIP/PFR was 28/18, which is tighter than their usual play. The 3-bet percentage was around 4%, lower than usual. The player protected the blinds widely, winning 0.3 bb on the small blind and 0.65 bb on the big blind. The player's win rate without rake was approximately 45 bb/100.

ZenFish, another user, commented that with a win rate of 1/10 or more of the standard deviation (27 bb/100 and 140 bb/100 respectively), bankroll management can be quite liberal. IbexTiller also shared some practical advice for playing micro-limits, emphasizing the importance of adapting strategies based on the opponents' playing styles.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
