Jason Koon Wins Poker Masters #16, Artur Martirosyan Runner-Up in #18

In the world of online poker, Sunday was a big day for the Poker Masters series on PartyPoker. Two standout tournaments, Poker Masters #16 and #18, drew significant attention with substantial prize pools.

Jason Koon emerged victorious in the Poker Masters #16 tournament, taking home a substantial prize of $549,000. This win marked Koon's first significant victory in the series. The tournament featured 72 participants, each paying a buy-in of $25,500, contributing to a total prize pool of $1,800,000. In the final showdown, Koon faced off against Justin Bonomo, one of the most profitable players in poker history, but Koon's skill and strategy prevailed, securing his win. Other notable players at the final table included Ole Schemion, Dario Sammartino, and Steve O'Dwyer, who all secured high placements and substantial payouts.

In the Poker Masters #18 tournament, the buy-in was $10,300, with 104 players competing for a prize pool of $1,040,000. The final table featured legendary online poker players Niklaus Astedt and Linus Laliiger. While Niklaus finished in fourth place, Linus Laliiger showcased exceptional play, ultimately winning the tournament. Laliiger's victory earned him a prize of $325,000. Artur Martirosyan, who had previously come close to winning in Poker Masters #3, was the runner-up in this tournament, taking home $202,000. Despite his strong performance, Martirosyan once again missed out on the top prize.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
