Doug Polk was eliminated from the $25k buy-in WPT HeadsUp Championship by Patrik Antonius. Polk had previously defeated Tom Dwan but lost to Antonius in a best-of-3 match showdown on the Poker King app. The first rubber saw Antonius turn a boat when both had flopped trips, and the second rubber went Antonius’ way when his suited 8-9 paired on the flop to topple Polk’s ace-eight.
Phil Ivey, an ambassador for the Poker King app, defeated Anthony Zinno. Ivey will face Stephen Chidwick in the quarter-finals, who bested Darren Elias. Stefan Burakov defeated Daniel Dvoress, and Sam Greenwood defeated Alexandra Botez. Dan Smith defeated Jean-Robert Bellande, and Wiktor Malinowski defeated Tuukka Sevänen. Christopher Kruk defeated Olivier Busquet in a long, tough match.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
