Phil Ivey and Patrik Antonius: The Button Battles
In August 2010, Phil Ivey and IHateJuice engaged in a heated discussion about the button during a poker session. IHateJuice expressed his dissatisfaction with Phil Ivey playing only one table, while Phil Ivey seemed unconcerned about the button rules.
A few days later, the disagreement resurfaced, with IHateJuice expressing frustration over Phil Ivey not following the button rules. Despite IHateJuice's repeated reminders, Phil Ivey continued to ignore the button, leading to further tension.
In early September 2010, the discussion about the button continued. Phil Ivey played only 600 hands of limit hold'em that month, and it's unclear whether he lost interest due to the button disputes or other reasons. IHateJuice then shifted his focus to Patrik Antonius, who also found himself in a button-related disagreement with IHateJuice. During a session in November 2010, Patrik Antonius eventually agreed to give the button to IHateJuice after a lengthy discussion. Despite the resolution, IHateJuice continued to pursue Patrik Antonius, even trying to persuade him to play a game of 2-7 with triple draw in December 2010.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
