Phil Ivey's New Venture and Other Poker Highlights from February 2016
Phil Ivey, known for his poker skills, is venturing into the world of daily fantasy sports. His new site, PhilIveyDFS, is set to launch soon on the iTEAM platform. Ivey expressed his excitement about sharing his vision of daily fantasy sports with fans, highlighting the technology and approach of iTEAM, as well as the leadership of Gabe Hunterton, the CEO of iTeam Network.
In January 2016, Phil Ivey attended the Aussie Millions but did not win any prizes. Notable results from the tournament include Chances Cornut winning first place, Igor Kurganov taking second, and Steve O’Dwyer finishing fourth in the $25k tournament. In the $100k tournament, Fabian Quoss emerged victorious against Ben Tollerene in the heads-up. The $250k tournament saw only 15 participants, with Fedor Holz being the sole player to use the re-entry option.
Richard Yong and Paul Phua, prominent high rollers from Macau, are reportedly banned from playing in PokerStars tournaments. This ban is speculated to be the reason behind the significant drop in participant numbers. Jason Somerville streamed all main tournaments of the series on his Twitch channel, providing extensive coverage of the events. Additionally, Ray Bitar, the former director of Full Tilt, recently got married and appears healthy and happy, recovering from his health issues.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
