Phil Ivey Opens Up About Life, Career, and Future in New Interview
Phil Ivey and Joey Ingram recently met up to film an episode of the Poker Life Podcast. Ivey mentioned that the COVID-19 pandemic has allowed him to reset his life and reassess what is important. He described his early poker career as an escape from reality, playing all day every day from the ages of 18 to 32. Ivey ended his relationship with alcohol, which he says has improved every area of his life.
Ivey prefers live poker over online because he can observe his opponents in person. He believes that Poker Kings, a platform he is partnered with, will grow into one of the main players in the industry.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
