Phil Ivey Bets $2 Million to Not Cut His Hair for a Year

Phil Ivey agreed to a $2 million bet to not cut his hair for a year. This bet was made during the filming of a Full Tilt Poker show, which featured a strong lineup of poker players. The lineup included Tom Dwan, Phil Ivey, and Patrick Antonius, among others.

The blind structure for the show was set at $300/600 ante $100, with a minimum buy-in of $100,000. This high-stakes environment added to the excitement and tension of the event.

During the show, various side bets and discussions took place, highlighting the competitive and playful nature of the poker community. The event was filmed in London, just before the start of the European World Series of Poker, adding to the anticipation and excitement.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
