Phil Hellmuth Secures 16th WSOP Bracelet in Thrilling 2-7 Lowball Draw Tournament
Phil Hellmuth has added another milestone to his illustrious poker career by winning his 16th WSOP bracelet in the WSOP#31 2-7 Lowball Draw tournament. This victory marks Hellmuth's first gold bracelet in the 2-7 Lowball Draw game, a popular variant of lowball poker.
The tournament attracted 272 players and offered a prize pool of $363,120. The largest share of the prize pool, $85,000, went to the winner, Phil Hellmuth. In the heads-up match, Hellmuth faced Jake Schwartz, who earned $52,000. Dario Sammartino, who was the runner-up in the WSOP 2019 ME, finished sixth in this tournament, earning $13,000.
Hellmuth's journey to this victory was not without challenges. He had faced four final table losses at WSOP 2021 and several disappointments. At one point, he even threatened to burn down the casino. However, in the WSOP#31 tournament, Hellmuth turned his fortunes around, especially on the second day when he became the chip leader.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
