Phil Hellmuth Challenges the Poker World to Head-to-Head Matches
Poker legend Phil Hellmuth is challenging other players to head-to-head matches. In the High Stakes Duel show on Poker Go, Hellmuth defeated Antonio Esfandiari in three matches and is eager for new opponents. Several players have already expressed interest in challenging Hellmuth.
Daniel Negreanu, who recently finished a match with Doug Polk, challenged Hellmuth to a head-to-head match. Negreanu criticized Hellmuth for not watching the match but still commenting on his game. Hellmuth, on the other hand, praised Negreanu's trainers but criticized his attempt to play Game Theory Optimal (GTO).
Tony G., who recently announced the end of his political career, proposed a charity head-to-head match with Hellmuth. The match would be televised, and Hellmuth has not yet responded to the proposal.
Meanwhile, Bill Perkins is set to play 20,000 hands against 21-year-old Landon Tice. Tice, who has gained respect from notable regulars, won more than a stack in a few hours of play on NL400. He played NL50 in August 2019 and NL500 in January 2020, and won $200,000 in an offline game according to Hendon Mob. Tice worked on his game with Andrew Lichtenberger and Nick Schulman, and his rise from micro limits to high stakes in 18 months was discussed on Joe Ingram's podcast.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
