Phil Galfond's Live Poker Challenge: The Showdown with Brandon Adams
Phil Galfond, a renowned poker player, has embarked on a new live challenge against Brandon Adams at the Resorts World Las Vegas casino. This challenge is unique because it has a time limit of 40 hours, unlike previous challenges that had hand count limits.
The first 8-hour session has already concluded, with Galfond losing about one buy-in, which amounts to 16,000$. Galfond humorously noted on Twitter, "Well, my wife very kindly asked me not to start this GalfondChallenge with a loss, but what fun would that be?"
Brandon Adams, Galfond's opponent, is no stranger to significant wins. He has accumulated over 5,198,000$ in live tournaments, with his largest win being 819,000$ for first place in a 50,000$ Poker Masters tournament in Las Vegas in 2017.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
