Patrik Antonius Blames Multi-Tabling for $2M Loss in Durrrr Challenge
Patrik Antonius lost $2 million in the Durrrr Challenge against Tom Dwan. The Finnish poker pro revealed in a recent interview on the Brandon Adams Podcast that his loss was due to multi-tabling, a strategy he had never used before and did not practice. Antonius agreed to play four tables at once, which he had never done before and did not practice. The most he'd ever played heads-up was two tables at once before.
The Durrrr Challenge was a proposal by Tom Dwan to play Pot Limit Omaha heads-up at stakes of $200/$400 for 50,000 hands. Tom Dwan played online at Full Tilt Poker under the moniker of durrrr. Dwan tossed in a bonus payment of $1.5 million to any challenger who could beat him.
Patrik Antonius stated that he personally does not think he is playing great poker when he is playing smaller stakes. He feels that he is lacking that intensity in the game. He has been trying to motivate himself to play with intensity, but it's just not the same as when you're playing really high stakes.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
