Patrick Leonard Regains Top Spot in Online Poker Rankings

Patrick Leonard, known by various nicknames such as pads1161, patrick_leonard, and babu$hka, has reclaimed the number 1 spot in the Online Poker Rankings. This marks his fifth visit to the top spot, having first reached it back in August 2014. Leonard's second visit to number one was later that same year, and it would be five years before he hit the same heights again.

Leonard's journey to the top has been marked by significant achievements. He signed up as a partypoker pro and ambassador in 2016. In 2017, he won the Bellagio Cup and two Aria $25k tournaments, earning a total of $1.2 million over four days. His victories included the WSOPC $25k HR Championship event in 2020, where he finished runner-up, earning $1,611,342.

Leonard's recent success includes bagging more than $900k in December 2021 alone, with almost 200 ITM finishes. His victory in the GGPoker $1,050 GGMasters High Roller for $141,384 brought him enough leaderboard points to overtake Pedro “pvigar” Garagnani, who had held the number one spot for six weeks. Other notable players in the current OPR top 10 include Anatoly “nl_profit” Filatov, and Mike “SirWatts” Watson, in 6th and 8th places respectively.
