Partypoker Cuts Rake on Micro Limits and Promises Software Improvements
Partypoker has announced significant changes aimed at enhancing the experience for players on micro limits. The poker room will reduce rake on all low limits, a move that comes after user feedback and a poll conducted by Rob Yong, partypoker's ambassador.
Rob Yong, partypoker's ambassador, said that the current rake level (5% with a cap of $3 on NL25) is not ideal but competitive. He noted that the current rake structure does not provide the best conditions for talented players to advance. Partypoker will hold two major tournaments at the end of the year: Millions Online and Monster Series, both of which will be more accessible to micro limit players through an expanded satellite schedule.
In addition to reducing rake, partypoker is committed to improving its software. Yong shared that the current software is not the most user-friendly, as indicated by a poll where only 9.5% of over 10,000 respondents voted for partypoker as having the best software. The feedback, along with over 1,000 replies, has been passed on to the management, which has promised a comprehensive overhaul of the client.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
