Online Poker Traffic Drops 11% Since Ukraine War Began
Since the start of the full-scale invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine, some popular poker rooms have exited the Russian gambling market. PartyPoker, for instance, left even before the invasion began. Following suit in February and March were PokerStars, 888poker, and GGpoker.
Despite these exits, Russian players still have access to PokerOK, although their deposit and cashout methods are significantly limited. The departure of these major poker giants has had a noticeable impact on online poker traffic. According to an independent study by Game Intel, which monitors the online gambling market, online poker traffic has decreased by an average of 11% since the Russian invasion began.
For example, traffic in the GGPoker network has decreased by 10%, while PokerStars has lost 15% of its traffic.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
