Olivier Busquet's Strategic Poker Hand from WSOP 2011

Olivier Busquet, known as 'livb112/Adonis112,' had a notable performance at the WSOP 2011, finishing 12th in the $25,000 NLHE Heads-Up tournament. His strategic play in a particular hand from the $5,000 NLHE tournament highlights his analytical skills and aggressive style.

In the hand, Busquet had 13,500 chips, while his opponent had 16,000. Busquet's opponent was described as a young and aggressive player, which added to the complexity of the hand. Busquet made a 3-bet with Ad 7c preflop to gather information about his opponent's playing style. He noted that his opponent's call was unexpected but not particularly concerning, as he planned to play passively on most dry flops.

On the flop, Busquet checked to observe his opponent's reaction. The flop was Ax 9x 6x with two hearts. Both players checked, and Busquet continued to play passively. On the turn, a third heart appeared, and Busquet's opponent bet 925. Busquet called, planning to check on the river regardless of his hand. On the river, Busquet's opponent bet 1,825, and Busquet made a large raise of 7,000. His opponent called, revealing a straight. Busquet showed a full house and won the pot of 17,550 chips. Busquet's strategy involved polarizing his opponent's range, making it difficult for his opponent to determine his hand strength.
