Young Norwegian Poker Pro Ole Kristian Nergard: From Fortune to High-Stakes
Ole Kristian Nergard is a young Norwegian poker player who gained attention after the EPT Grand Final 2011 in Madrid. He is known for his aggressive playing style and has participated in high-stakes tournaments.
Ole Kristian Nergard's family founded the company Nergård, which is the largest exporter of fish in Norway. The company was established in 1950 and has since grown to include 14 fish processing plants, several freezers, and six ocean trawlers. The company employs around 500 people and has an annual turnover of 150 million euros.
Ole Kristian Nergard inherited a significant fortune after his father, Ule-Arvid Nergard, passed away in 2008. The family decided to sell the company, and after lengthy negotiations, all formalities were completed by the end of 2010, making Ole Kristian a multimillionaire. He has since been active in the poker world, participating in high-stakes tournaments and sharing his experiences on various forums and social media.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
