Odd Oddsen: The Rise of a Poker Pro in Omaha

Odd Oddsen's journey in the world of poker is both inspiring and insightful. He started playing poker around 2004, initially learning from his brother who played MTTs online. Odd Oddsen began playing online poker at the age of 18, starting with low-stakes MTTs and eventually building a bankroll of $30,000 before losing it all.

Odd Oddsen transitioned to playing heads-up NL50 and increased his bankroll to $10,000 within a month. He discovered PLO (Poker Omaha) and started playing heads-up games at $0.25/$0.50 stakes, reading books on the game to improve his skills. Odd Oddsen increased his bankroll to $100,000 within six months of playing PLO and regularly played at $5/$10 stakes.

Odd Oddsen prefers playing against strong opponents to improve his game and considers the approach of 'bumhunters' ineffective in the long run. He primarily played on PokerStars due to its suitability for multitabling and high rakeback at Supernova Elite level. Odd Oddsen believes that Omaha has a bright future due to its high dispersion, making it attractive for weak players who keep returning despite downswings. He has experienced significant downswings in Omaha, losing over 100 buy-ins multiple times.
