Nicklas Bendtner Reveals He Lost £6 Million Playing Poker
Nicklas Bendtner, a former professional footballer who played for Arsenal, has revealed that he lost around £6 million playing poker. The 32-year-old, who is now a free agent, began playing poker at the age of 19. He shared this information on his show, Nicklas and Filin, which he hosts with his girlfriend Filin.
Bendtner admitted that he spent a lot of time playing poker and that the situation became critical at one point. However, he managed to overcome the challenges and now only plays poker at home with friends, with a minimum bet of around 1,000 rubles. He assured viewers that he does not have a gambling addiction and that these games were just an expensive form of entertainment.
Despite his poker losses, Bendtner's life has been filled with controversies. In 2018, he was sentenced to 50 days in prison for assaulting a taxi driver. Additionally, during Euro 2012, he exposed his underwear, which featured an advertisement for a betting company, while celebrating a goal.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
