Nick Schulman Reflects on the 2008 WSOP HORSE Tournament

Nick Schulman and Remko Rinkema delved into the details of the 2008 World Series of Poker (WSOP) HORSE tournament with a $50,000 buy-in. This tournament, won by Scottie Nguyen, was dedicated to the late Chip Reese, who passed away in 2007.

The final table featured a mix of cash game specialists and tournament players, including Eric Lindgren, Scottie Nguyen, Barry Greenstein, Matt Glantz, Lyle Berman, Michael DeMichele, and Huck Seed. Nick Schulman shared his insights on the players, noting that Huck Seed is a genius and a very strong player. He also mentioned that starting with limit hold'em is beneficial for serious no-limit hold'em players, as it helps build a strong foundation in various runouts.

During the tournament, notable hands were discussed, such as the one between Huck Seed and Michael DeMichele in Stud Hi-Lo. Seed's strategic play and DeMichele's misreading of his hand added to the excitement. The discussion also touched on the unique personalities and playing styles of the participants, making the tournament a memorable event in poker history.
