Nguyen Dung Wins Record-Breaking Triton One Jeju Event

The Triton One Jeju festival's $3,000 QQPK Genesis no-limit hold’em event drew a record 1,236 entries, making it the largest field in the tour’s history. The prize pool surged to more than $3.3 million as a result. In the end, it was Nguyen Dung who hoisted the trophy and claimed the top prize of $586,000. This was by far the largest live tournament result yet for the Vietnamese player, topping his previous best score of $381,228 for a runner-up finish in a $15,000 buy-in at the 2025 Asian Poker Tour Championship.

Nguyen Dung secured 1,440 Card Player Player of the Year points as the champion. That was enough to move him into a tie for 18th place in the 2026 POY standings presented by CoinPoker. This event featured four starting flights and two more days of combined-field action, with the final table taking place on International Women’s Day (Sunday, Mar. 8). Two female players made the finale: Nguyen Thi Xoa (7th – $79,000) and Chunnuan Xu (5th – $138,500).

Nguyen Dung ultimately squared off with 2024 World Series of Poker Paradise super main event winner Yinan Zhou heads-up. The final hand saw the chips get in after a J♥10♦9♣ flop with Zhou’s A♣J♣ leading Nguyen’s Q♦10♥. The K♣ turn gave Nguyen a straight and the lead, but Zhou picked up a flush draw. The 7♦ kept Nguyen’s hand best, though, bringing the event to a close. Zhou earned $338,000 as the runner-up, making it his second-largest payday on the circuit, trailing the $6 million he earned along with his WSOP bracelet.
