Mike Ruter and Samy Dighlawi Triumph in WSOP Event #59: $1,000 Tag Team
Mike Ruter and Samy Dighlawi won WSOP Event #59: $1,000 Tag Team for $113,366. They defeated a field of 641 teams in a grueling three-hour battle against Tomer Wolf and David Landell. The Americans had previously played this event in 2019 and lasted only an hour, which motivated them to return and seek revenge.
At the beginning of the heads-up stage, Mike Ruter and Samy Dighlawi were tied for the lead. However, things started to go wrong very quickly as Tomer Wolf and David Landell kept smashing every board. Dighlawi explained to PokerNews: “He just kept smashing every board. Every single board he had a piece of it. Every c-bet I make, he calls, or floats, and hits the turn. For like literally an hour and a half straight.”
Their luck soon turned, though, and before long it was the Americans who were carrying a massive 12-1 chip advantage. Soon after seven-six shoved into Team Ruter’s queen-seven saw the end of the event and Mike Ruter and Samy Dighlawi picked up their first WSOP bracelets.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
