Mike Matusow Buys Poker House Dallas: Details and Plans
Mike Matusow, a well-known poker player, has made a significant move in the poker world by purchasing Poker House Dallas. In a recent podcast, Matusow announced his intention to buy Johnny Chan’s 88 Social poker room, including all its debts, and discussed a potential joint purchase with his friends. However, he ultimately decided on Poker House Dallas, located in Texas.
Matusow is not the first to show interest in Johnny Chan’s 88 Social. Earlier, Douglas Polk and Chris Moneymaker had expressed their desire to acquire the club. Despite the interest in that particular venue, Matusow opted for Poker House Dallas, which has already started operations. The club opened at the end of January and is currently hosting cash games with 1$/2$ stakes in No-Limit Hold'em and Omaha.
Poker House Dallas is planning exciting events for the coming months. In February, the club will host flights to a tournament with a prize pool of $250,000. While there are no announcements about major series yet, the club is already seeing increased activity due to the closure of two other poker clubs in Dallas over the past year because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
