Matias Ejbinger won the WPT Montreal High Roller tournament for $5,200. The event, part of the WPT Montreal Online series on PartyPoker, attracted 51 poker players. Nine of them shared a prize pool of $255,000.
Notable players like Patrick Leonard, David Peters, Sam Greenwood, and Elio Fox competed against Ejbinger. Ejbinger maintained a strong lead throughout the final table, while Greenwood, who had only five big blinds in a 5-max game, managed to recover and surpass Ejbinger in the top 3.
After nearly three hours at the final table, the title went to Austrian player Matias Ejbinger. The head-to-head against Sam Greenwood lasted an hour and a half, and they agreed on a deal. According to the deal, Ejbinger received $71,600, and Greenwood took $61,700. The final flip was entertaining as Ejbinger was dealt pocket aces.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
