Maltese Poker Stage: Urbanovich, Chauskin, and Jorgensen Shine in EPT
The Maltese stage of the European Poker Tour (EPT) featured a variety of exciting tournaments. A mix-game tournament with a €5,000 buy-in included 2-7 Single Draw, 2-7 Double Draw, No-Limit Hold'em, and Pot-Limit Omaha. The unusual mix and high buy-in resulted in a final table with only five players, three of whom were from Finland. The tournament was won by Dmitry Urbanovich, earning €15,760, his fifth victory in Maltese tournaments this year.
The main event of the Italian Poker Tour, held concurrently, attracted 947 players. Natan Chauskin, a Belarusian player, emerged victorious, earning €149,560. Chauskin, who entered the final table as the chip leader, dominated the heads-up against Govert Metaal, a well-known high roller. Metaal finished second, earning €124,080. Chauskin attributed his success to his competitive nature and love for the sport of poker.
Theo Jorgensen, a member of the PokerStars professional team, won his first EPT title in a hyper-turbo knockout tournament, earning €16,940. Anton 'antesvante' Vigg secured his ninth victory in EPT side events by winning an Omaha turbo tournament, earning €11,340. Martin Stajko triumphed in a quintuple draw mix tournament, earning €3,670. Gianluca Esposito won a nightly hyper-turbo tournament, earning €23,700, but was eliminated early the next day in the main event. Neil Farrell won the main event, earning €534,330, after a key hand against Gianluca Esposito.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
