Kindred Group Faces $42.7 Million Fine for Operating in Norway
Kindred Group, a prominent online gambling operator, is facing a potential fine of up to $42.7 million for continuing to operate in Norway. The Norwegian Lottery and Foundation Authority (Lotteritilsynet) has planned to levy a daily fine of $117,279 if Kindred continues to offer their brands in the country.
The brands in question, operated by Kindred's subsidiary Trannel, include popular names like Unibet, Bingo.com, and various online casinos. Lotteritilsynet claims that these operations are illegal under Norwegian law.
Kindred has been engaged in legal battles over their operations in Norway for several years. Despite their claims of not violating any laws, they have lost multiple court cases, with the most recent ruling against them by the Oslo District Court earlier this month.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
