Justin Bonomo Wins Big One for One Drop at WSOP 2018

Justin Bonomo made history at the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2018 by winning the prestigious Big One for One Drop tournament. The event, with a buy-in of $1,000,000, attracted 27 entries and created a prize pool of $24,840,000. Bonomo's victory secured him $10,000,000, nearly half of the total prize pool.

Before the tournament, Bonomo sold shares of his entry and donated a portion of the proceeds to charity. This strategic move added to the excitement and anticipation surrounding his performance. In the final heads-up match, Bonomo faced off against Fedor Holz, who had taken a break from poker after a successful streak in 2016 but returned for select events. Holz finished as the runner-up, earning $6,000,000.

David Einhorn, who was eliminated in 6th place, lost to Bonomo in a critical hand. Einhorn's A-Q was no match for Bonomo's 7-4, which hit a 7-5-5 flop, securing Bonomo's victory in that round. Other notable players who made it to the final table included Dán Smith, who finished third with $4,000,000, and Rick Salomon, who took fourth place with $2,840,000. Byron Caverman finished fifth with $2,000,000.
