Remembering Johannes Straussman: A Poker Star's Tragic End
Johannes Straussman was a member of Team PokerStars and had four Top 10 finishes on EPT in 2007 and 2008.
In 2009, Straussman was eliminated from the Grand Final EPT in Monte Carlo by Hungarian Peter 'Belabasci' Trapli. He was on his way to the final table when he lost a significant portion of his stack to Trapli and was eliminated in 14th place.
Straussman's best result in Las Vegas was 11th place in the PLO World Championship at WSOP 2013. He also had a notable performance in the Super High Roller tournament in London, where he finished 5th, earning £224,400.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
