Jens Kilonen: From Poker Pro to Trading Intern
Jens Kilonen, a former professional poker player, has made a significant transition in his career. He stopped grinding poker in 2015 to study at the Hanken School of Economics in Helsinki. Despite his focus on education, Kilonen managed to win a $25k PLO bracelet in 2016 and earned over $1 million at high-stakes online tables.
After graduating, Kilonen worked at Helsinki Capital Partners for four months before moving to the US to intern at Susquehanna International Group (SIG). His preference for Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) is due to the larger pots and more frequent all-ins, which he attributes to his mathematical skills, logical thinking, and ability to understand his opponents' thought processes.
Kilonen's poker skills, particularly his ability to manage multiple tasks and control emotions, have proven beneficial in his trading internship. He mentions that his experience in poker has helped him adapt to the demands of trading, where attention to detail and emotional control are crucial.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
