Jason Koon Wins $574,000 at Triton Poker, Sets Record with Fifth Title
Jason Koon has made history by becoming the first player to win five Triton Poker titles. His latest victory came at the $50k NLH Turbo event in Vietnam, where he secured $574,000. The event had a prizepool of $1,550,000 with 24 players accounting for 31 entries. Stephen Chidwick and Dan Smith missed the five paid spots, while Warwick Mirzikinian busted on the money bubble.
Artur Martirosian caught up after knocking out Haxton and taking two big pots off Brewer. Punnat Punsri was eliminated in 4th place when his A♣ 8♣ couldn't catch Koon's pocket treys. Koon then took out Brewer in a crucial hand. Koon's victory gave him five Triton wins, edging him ahead of Mikita Badziakouski in the Triton lifetime wins standings.
Koon explained his big hand against Martirosian, saying he knew he had the best hand. He revealed that his motivation for playing high-stakes tournaments is to earn a lot of money, as he wants to make the most of his energy and passion while he can.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
