Poker Pros Bet Big: Ivey and Mercier's WSOPE Showdown

Poker players are always up for a challenge, and the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) is no exception. Daniel Negreanu kicked off his 6-week journey with a tweet and a photo of his assistant packing a suitcase. His itinerary includes stops in Las Vegas, Toronto, London, Paris, Barcelona, and the Isle of Man.

Tom Dwan, known for his high-stakes poker games, returned to Macau after a long absence. He shared his excitement on Twitter, writing, "Finally home #macau." However, his stay was short-lived as he soon headed to Taiwan, where he mentioned staying in the airport due to visa issues.

Phil Ivey and Jason Mercier made headlines during the WSOPE with a high-stakes bet. Ivey bet on David Benefield's victory, while Mercier bet on his own. The stakes were high, with Mercier standing to gain an additional €60,000 if he won. Despite their efforts, neither made it to the prize zone, with Mercier finishing in 24th place and Ivey in 10th. However, Mercier's bet on the PLO tournament with a €1,650 buy-in kept the excitement going, as he progressed to the final day with the 5th stack.
