Isaac Haxton on PokerStars Departure and PCA Experiences
Isaac Haxton, a prominent poker player, recently shared his thoughts on his departure from PokerStars and his experiences at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure (PCA). Haxton mentioned that his friends David Baazov and Eric Hollreiser were also at the PCA, but he did not interact with them during the event.
Haxton noted that he had a good relationship with PokerStars employees, especially James Hartigan and Joe Stapleton. He expressed his satisfaction with the way PokerStars handled his departure, stating that they were understanding and supportive. However, he also mentioned that he did not receive any communication from Amaya, the parent company of PokerStars.
Haxton and his wife moved from Malta to Vancouver due to changes in Malta's residency rules. The changes included a significant increase in the financial requirements for residency, which made it less attractive for Haxton and his family. He also expressed his dissatisfaction with PokerStars' decision to cancel the Supernova and Supernova Elite programs, stating that he could not accept the changes. Haxton mentioned that he does not believe in PokerStars anymore due to their treatment of players. He also discussed the possibility of focusing more on live poker due to the changes in online poker.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
