Illinois Lottery Urges Players to Claim Over $1.5M in Near-Expiry Prizes
The Illinois Lottery has issued an urgent appeal to players, urging them to check their tickets from the past year. The lottery has announced five tickets with prizes of over $1.5 million that are to be claimed through November, December and January.
One of the significant prizes is a Lucky Day Lotto ticket worth $250,000, bought on November 7, 2025, at the BP gas station located at 10300 S. Torrence Ave. in Chicago. This ticket will expire unless the owner steps forward to present the slip and claim the six-figure prize.
Additionally, two Powerball tickets worth $200,000 each, won on December 15 and December 17, 2025, are set to expire within days of each other. These tickets were purchased at Hy-Vee, 2115 S. MacArthur Blvd. Springfield, Illinois, and Jays Unlimited Liquor, 2900 Ogden Ave., Aurora, Illinois, respectively.
Another Lucky Day Lotto ticket worth $700,000, bought from the Shell at 5201 N. Western Ave. Chicago, Illinois, will expire on January 23, 2026. Furthermore, a ticket worth $150,000, purchased at Exxon, 3831 W. 95th St., Evergreen Park, Illinois, will expire on January 24, 2026.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
