Hàn Fēn's Unconventional Play with Pocket Tens in High-Stakes Poker
In the first day of the final table of the main tournament, several hands stood out, but the action was limited. One of the most notable hands involved Hàn Fēn's unconventional play with pocket tens.
The blinds were 1.5M/3M/3M, and Hàn Fēn had 70.5M/23.5 big blinds. Gregg Müller raised to 6M with on the button, and Hàn Fēn called with on the small blind. On the flop, Hàn Fēn checked, and Gregg Müller bet 3M, which Hàn Fēn called. Lucas Jumalon then check-raised to 18M, and Gregg Müller folded. On the turn, Lucas Jumalon bet 15.5M, and Hàn Fēn called. On the river, both players checked, and the hand ended.
Hàn Fēn's decision to call on the flop and turn, despite having a strong hand, has been a topic of discussion among poker enthusiasts. Some argue that his play was strategic, aiming to trap his opponents, while others believe it was a mistake. The hand highlights the complexities and unpredictability of high-stakes poker.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
