GGPoker Starts Penalizing Cash Game Players for Leaving Tables Early

GGPoker has implemented a penalty system for cash game players who leave tables without playing at least 10 hands. The penalty is a temporary ban from tables of a certain limit, starting from a few minutes and increasing with more tables left.

The penalties are as follows: 5 minutes for 2 tables, 15 minutes for 3 tables, 30 minutes for 4 tables, and 60 minutes for 5 tables. The penalty system does not apply to Rush&Cash and VIP games.

This system is designed to limit 'bump hunting' — a practice where players quickly leave tables after joining to avoid playing hands.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
