GGPoker Bans High-Stakes Player, Confiscates $160K – Here's What Happened

Tobias Dutweiler, a high-stakes poker player known as 'dudd1', found himself in a heated dispute with GGPoker after his account was blocked and $160,000 was confiscated. Dutweiler had been playing on GGPoker for a year and a half, paying a large rake and losing at least $85,000 before starting to win.

According to Dutweiler, his account was blocked during a verification process when he was required to switch from using a nickname to his real name. GGPoker stated that Dutweiler was banned due to a previous ban on Natural8, another skin in the GG Network. The poker community, including notable players like Stefan Sontheimer and Koray Aldemir, has been vocal about the unfair treatment.

GGPoker's ambassador, Fedor Holz, explained that the ban was due to a previous ban on Natural8 and that the funds were redistributed to other players. Holz emphasized that GGPoker follows high security standards and that the ban was not a scheme to steal from players. GGPoker acknowledged the complexity of the situation and announced improvements to their security system and P2P transfer process.
