Gamble-Pause Launches First Pan-African Gambling Blocking App
Gamble-Pause, a WorldGaming Safer Gaming charity partner, has launched the first pan-African gambling blocking app. The app, available in 40 African languages, blocks access to both licensed and offshore gambling websites and supports users in their recovery from gambling addiction.
The Gamble-Pause App is designed to enable users to voluntarily exclude themselves from gambling platforms, including both licensed operators as well as offshore websites, for a minimum period of one year. A dedicated intelligence system continuously identifies and updates a database of unlicensed and black-market gambling operators, helping users avoid platforms that often operate outside regulatory oversight.
The app is also built to restrict access to prediction markets and related platforms. It empowers users to actively contribute to and expand the app’s capabilities by reporting offshore or unregulated operators. The app is designed with a deeper understanding of how problem gamblers behave, and does not stop at simply prohibiting access to gambling platforms. It is designed with accessibility in mind, supporting more than 40 African languages. The app is designed to continue operating effectively in the background while minimizing device impact.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
