FullTilt Poker Shuts Down After License Revocation
The Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) revoked the licenses of the companies operating under the FullTilt Poker brand. The AGCC issued a Suspension Order requiring the companies to immediately cease all activities. The AGCC's decision was based on a special investigation triggered by charges filed by the Office of the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York on April 15.
FullTilt Poker is prohibited from registering new clients, accepting deposits, allowing withdrawals, and permitting any form of poker or gambling activity. The AGCC's investigation found evidence suggesting that the licensees and their business partners violated Alderney's legislation, prompting immediate action to protect citizens.
PokerStars assured its clients that their funds are safe and that the situation does not affect PokerStars' operations. Moneybookers/Skrill stopped processing transactions with FullTilt Poker, citing security concerns. Tom Dwan expressed frustration and concern about the situation, mentioning that FullTilt Poker might face difficulties finding a buyer and resolving payments. Poker reported that FullTilt Poker might resume operations outside the U.S. with a license from the Kahnawake Gaming Commission.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
