Freddi Dib: From Poker to Business and Back Again

Freddi Dib, a well-known figure in the poker world, recently shared his journey from a successful poker career to managing a restaurant and back to poker. In an interview, he discussed his early life, business challenges, and significant poker wins.

Dib opened a restaurant but had to leave it due to various issues. He mentioned that he was not involved enough in the restaurant's operations, which led to problems. He regretted not spending more time managing the business and trusted relatives who were not up to the task. Despite the setback, Dib is focused on his family, including his four children, with the youngest finishing school.

Dib's early life was marked by responsibility. His father was involved in the meat reselling business, and after his father's injury, Dib had to manage the business at a young age. He would wake up early to make purchases and deliver meat to restaurants and hotels. This experience taught him valuable skills in negotiation and business management.

I've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
