Poker Pro Frank Calo's Global Adventures: Panama, Toronto, and San Diego
Frank Calo, a seasoned poker player, recently shared his experiences living in different cities while playing poker. His journey began in Panama City, where he moved to participate in the SCOOP online poker series. Calo's loss after SCOOP was approximately $50-60,000, but he appreciated the quality of internet and the safety of the city. He lived in a well-furnished apartment in Punta Paitilla, one of the most beautiful districts of Panama City, close to the ocean. The building had a gym and a pool, and there was a supermarket nearby. However, Calo decided not to return to Panama due to the lack of other good poker players in the country and the challenging weather conditions.
Calo then moved to Toronto, Canada, where he now lives with fellow poker players 68ioweyou1, gray31, and nutsinho. He described his life in Toronto as exciting and enjoyable, comparing the city to Boston. Calo currently plays PLO and NL poker games online, focusing on bumhunting. He expressed his excitement for the upcoming World Championship of Online Poker and mentioned that he feels comfortable and confident in his current living situation.
In addition to his online poker activities, Calo also shared his experiences in San Diego. He moved to the border of Banker's Hill and Hillcrest and enjoys a relaxed lifestyle. Calo plays poker at Palomar Card Club, where he has had successful sessions. He also won a WPT tournament with a $2,000 buy-in at Seminole Hard Rock in Hollywood, Florida, marking his second cash finish in offline tournaments.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
