Fedor Holtz and High-Stakes Poker: A Thrilling Pot-Limit Omaha Session
Fedor Holtz, Leon Tsukernik, Sam Tricket, Victor Bloom, and three unknown players, one of whom represented Russia, participated in a closed Pot-Limit Omaha game with $100/$200 blinds on partypoker. Gus Hansen played only one hand in the game.
Joe Ingram, who has extensive experience in Omaha, including in weaker compositions offline and in 'gray' American rooms, considered this session to be one of the craziest. Leon Tsukernik opened with a $700 raise from the first position, and Fedor Holtz applied a non-standard move by placing a nearly flat 3-bet of $1,500 from the highjack. Victor Bloom, swordfishAA, and Sam Tricket folded, while GhenaD called on the big blind.
Leon Tsukernik, with a hand in the top 48%, had 46.5% equity against four random cards, while Fedor Holtz, with a hand in the top 9%, had 57% equity in the side pot. On the flop 7h 7d 2h, with a pot of $15,295 and an effective stack of $28,380, Leon checked, and Fedor bet $6,200, receiving a call. On the turn 8s, with a pot of $27,695 and $22,180 behind Fedor, Leon went all-in, and Fedor called. On the river Qs, the pot of $72,055 went to Fedor Holtz.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
