ESPT Marbella Kicks Off with Historic Poker Hand Voted by Fans
The first Estrellas Poker Tour (ESPT) in Marbella began on June 12, 2013, marking a significant event in the poker world. Around 700 players participated in the ESPT Marbella, including many regular players and qualifiers from the UKIPT (United Kingdom and Ireland Poker Tour).
The tournament guaranteed a prize pool of 500,000€, with the potential to set a new record for the highest prize in the circuit's history. The excitement was palpable as the event sold out quickly, ensuring that the guaranteed prize pool would be surpassed with ease.
In a promotional event, PokerStars celebrated the “Mano cien mil millones” and asked its players to vote for the “Best hand in PokerStars history” from a list of 25 possibilities. The winning hand was Daniel Negreanu's performance at the European Poker Tour London 2010, where his verbal skills convinced his opponent to fold a superior hand.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
