EPT Season Concludes with Exciting Final and Upcoming Events
The European Poker Tour (EPT) season has come to an exciting close with the Grand Final in Monte Carlo. Daniel Gómez Garnerus, known as Garnerus, is one of the eight remaining players in the final and is currently in fourth place. Bernard Guigon, a French pharmacist based in Dakar, leads the final with nearly 2,000,000 chips, followed closely by Rodrigo Capriole with nearly 2,000,000 chips less.
Garnerus has already secured 150,000€ and stands to win ten times that amount if he finishes first. The upcoming EPT season is set to begin in Barcelona at the end of August, with stops in San Remo, Prague, PCA Bahamas, Deauville, London, Berlin, and the final in Monte Carlo. This season promises eight distinct tournaments and eight opportunities to win a coveted red chip.
In the Global Poker Index, Bertrand Grospellier ElkY is on the verge of surpassing Jason Mercier. ElkY's recent victories, including winning a side event at the EPT Berlin and finishing third in the Super High Roller, have boosted his points. Meanwhile, Jonathan Duhamel continues to lead the Player of the Year classification, followed by Andrew Badecker and Samuel Chartier.

Argus RivenI've spent years at the tables — cash and tournaments — and just as long shaping poker copy behind the scenes: room reviews, bonus fine print, tournament notes. At PokerInsider I write the way I wish more sites would: clear structure, honest trade-offs, no hype. Whether you're new or already grinding, I care about what the offer actually costs you — rake, variance, and the fine print — and I treat responsible play as part of the job, not a footnote.
